Revolution vs Frontline - Expert's Oppinions

Choose Frontline Plus if you are looking for rapid flea and tick control. Frontline Plus claims to kill adult fleas on your cat within 18 hours of application. This is important for killing fleas before they can infest an entire house or transmit some flea-borne disease to your cat. Frontline kills ticks within 48 hours of application and has additional medication to kill flea eggs and larvae.

Select Revolution when you are afraid that your cat has been exposed to more than just fleas and ticks. Revolution fights all forms of parasitic infection, effectively making the cat's blood poison to the various parasites that might attack her. Unlike Frontline Plus, Revolution also fights heartworms, earmites and other parasites that might attack your cat.

Consider that Frontline Plus may be a better choice if your cat has had previous problems with flea and tick medication. Revolution is a stronger, broader based medication and may be slightly more likely to cause a reaction from your cat.

Choose Revolution for your cat if you have a multi-cat household or if your cat spends time outdoors. The more extensive protection of Revolution is needed for cats that spend time outside, as they are more likely to encounter ringworms and tapeworms as well as fleas and ticks.

Revolution vs Frontline - Customers' Feedback

My vet prescribes revolution for my cats. At work someone told me that frontline works good and is cheaper. I ordered frontline online because revolution is so expensive at the vet. Here is my question, should I just keep using revolution? Why is frontline cheaper online and if ordering online is the frontline just as good as buying at the vet?

You get what you pay for - Frontline doesn't work for me at all, I went over to Revolution ages ago, and not one flea.

Revolution is really a superior product though as it includes mosquitoes (which can cause heartworm) in the list of things it protects against. Frontline is cheaper than Revolution even at the vet.

I use Frontline because that is what my vet recomended, but I have heard that Revolution and Advantage are good also. You can buy them all online.

Revolution controls heartworms, earmites, hookworms, and roundworms, as well as the fleas & ticks. If you go with the Frontline, you'll need to buy at least a separate heartworm prevention, and possibly a dewormer and ear mite medicine if your cat gets worms or mites.

I have two Revolution lifts. No problems and I am real happy.

I have used Revolution to deal with mites and found it messy and unpleasant to apply.

love Revolution......have been using it for many years. Never had a flea, tick, mite, heartworm, etc problem! Highly recommend the Revolution. My neighbors have to have their yard professionally exterminated twice a year for the ticks and fleas........ I try to tell them that's not necessary because they could just use revolution. They insist on frontline.

Both of those medications work marvelous. If your dog is allergic to one then of course you can stick to the other. I use frontline on two of my dogs and revolution on the dog thats allergic. They both work great.

My yorkie is allergic to Frontline. I used Revolution for about a year (I moved and the new vet doesnt carry it). I loved it while my dog was on it. The vet that I used when we found out my dog was allergic to Frontline recommended it saying that it was recommended for smaller dogs, even tiny kittens could handle Revolution when they couldnt handle the toxicity of other brands on their tiny bodies.
